I love a challenge. Give me a goal, and I am all over it. This is why I have chosen to do the New Orleans half Ironman (or "70.3") on April 18, 2010, and do it well. Exactly 20 weeks from now. As a subscriber of Triathlete Magazine & Runner's World for the past 3 years, a finisher in tons of races from half marathons to sprint triathlons... this should be a piece of cake! Right? ...hello?

Today's workout was pretty easy, as most training schedules start out. However, my weekly workout hours are going to increase significantly. I hope this will be OK since it is spread out over 3 sports, thus 3 different muscle groups.

My weakest sport is the swim, and I haven't been in the water since my last sprint triathlon in '08. Like a lot of people, I panic in the swimming portion of triathlon. The combination of not being able to see in murky, deep water & being kicked in the face by the person in front of you is just not ideal. Also, the tiny detail that I just plain suck at it. It is going to be a high priority to spend serious time in the pool & local lake.

My keyboard is now being attacked by a cat. That's my cue to go to sleep...
